Gas fireplace serviceLevel 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Cleaning Before & After in Henderson, NV
Photos do what words can’t. You can read about glaze and creosote all day, but seeing what actually comes out of a Henderson chimney, and what the flue looks like after we’re done, tells the real story. Below are representative jobs from across the valley, from Green Valley to Lake Las Vegas. Names and addresses are omitted for privacy, but the work is exactly what we see week in and week out.

Heavy Creosote Removal in Green Valley
Before
AfterThe homeowner had burned primarily softwood for three winters. The flue had a quarter inch of shiny, tar-like creosote coating the walls from the smoke shelf up. We ran a rotary whip with steel cable heads through the full length, then hand-scrubbed the smoke chamber. The result was bare clay liner from top to bottom, and a chimney that drafts cleanly without the fuel load that creosote represents.
Neglected Fireplace in Anthem
Before
AfterThis fireplace hadn’t been cleaned in over a decade. The ash bed was mounded nearly to the grate, and the damper was seized open, which let conditioned air pour up the flue all summer. We removed roughly forty pounds of ash and debris, freed the damper, and swept the flue. The after photo shows a clean firebox and a damper that actually closes. The homeowner’s first fire after the job drew perfectly.
Animal Nest Removal in Inspirada
Before
AfterA family in Inspirada called because smoke was backing into the living room. When we got on the roof, the cause was immediate: a bird nest fully blocking the flue opening. We removed the nest, swept the full length, and verified the draft with a smoke test. The blockage was complete enough that this chimney would not have vented at all. After the job, the smoke pulled straight up like it should.
Stage 3 Creosote in Old Henderson

Older homes in Old Henderson often have chimneys that saw decades of wood burning before modern EPA stoves existed. This one had hard, baked-on stage 3 creosote, the kind that requires more than a standard brush. We used a rotary chain system to break the glaze loose, then swept the remainder. The after photo shows exposed flue tile that hadn’t been visible in years. This level of buildup is a chimney fire waiting to happen, and removing it is the single most protective thing you can do for the house.
Water Damage Follow-Up in Seven Hills

A Seven Hills homeowner called us after noticing white staining on the brick inside the firebox, which in Henderson almost always points to water intrusion through a failed cap or crown. We inspected the full system, found a cracked crown, and rebuilt it before water could compromise the flue liner further. The before photo shows the efflorescence and cracked crown; the after shows a sealed crown and clean firebox. Repairs like this are part of why every sweep we do includes an inspection of the exterior as well.
Rental Turnover Call near Lake Las Vegas

A property manager near Lake Las Vegas called between tenants, which is the right time to do this work. The chimney had moderate creosote but more concerning, a partially closed damper that would have sent smoke into the unit on the first fire. We cleaned the flue, repaired the damper linkage, and left a written report for the owner. The after photo shows a flue that’s ready for the next tenant’s first cold night.
